I am 28 years old with a history of Perthes Disease - also known as Legg Calvé Perthes disease.

My world changed back in January 2014 where I was suddenly stricken and could not move my leg or walk with excruciating pain. I spent many months in and out of hospital with multiple tests which only had proven a high CRP level - inflammation. I had no answers. I was on constant pain medication and was using a range of equipment to 'walk'.
I finally found a surgeon who scheduled a Left Total Hip Replacement for me on the 7th April 2014.
To this date I don't have any definitive answers as to what 'triggered' the pain and spasms I was experiencing in my hip and why my CRP levels were high sky, I have to accept this has been my path in life.
I documented my long and hard journey leading up to my hip replacement and then my long recovery to walk again. Due to my immobility prior to the replacement I lost A LOT of strength and muscle and I had to reteach myself to walk properly.
I am conscious of judgement in how I look and how this journey has been for me and so if there are any nasty or judgemental remarks made please know I will block you immediately. I have no room for negativity in my life.
To anyone know is going through pain, needs a THR or is recovering from one, know that you are not alone in your struggle and that I believe in you.. if I can get through what I have this past year, anything is possible.
