Mechanical Weighing scale/ Weight Machine Motion study tutorial in Solidworks
This is model of a Mechanical Weight Machine Or Spring Scale, it has all those basic parts which are required in the basic functioning.
A Spring Scale generally works on the principle of hooke's law.
In this Motion Study, it is shown that how to calculate the spring constant of the scale and that valve has been verified by applying various weight.

Note: In this Motion Study, while calculating the Spring Constant the weight of hanging bar ( attached to the spring) is not included, because gravity is not taken into consideration.
But, if you Switch ON the Gravity in the motion study, then You will have to consider the weight of the hanging bar also (along with the applied load) to calculate the Spring constant.
