A two tank dive day with Captain Mike Tapper of N'Pursuit out of East Chicago. The Material Service Barge is one of the best wrecks in the Chicago area. The dive plan is the Material Service Barge and Car Ferry #2. Both lie in 40 feet of water or less.
Material Service Barge: Sank in 1936 with many hands on board. She is over 240' long in 30' of water, 1/2 mile from shore. ttp://materialservicebarge.com
Car Ferry #2: Transported railroad cars across the lake. She was built in 1895 and sank in 40' feet of water in Zone 1. Easily over the size of a football field!
