First of three videos that introduces the novice machinist to cylindrical grinding. Cylindrical grinding is not generally used by novice machinists but learning the basics of the process can help to impress a future employer or bring someone to farm out certain operations to a specialized shop because they would understand that this technique could help in completing and important part. More specifically, this video looks at cylindrical grinding cutting action, cylindrical grinder parts and components, wheel dressing, work holding devices, plunge and longitudinal cutting and machine alignment.
