Held on Thursday, March 3, 2022, the first event of our three part series provided a critical evaluation of the outcomes of COP26, giving a multi-level analysis of implications, with a special focus on its impact on the Asia-Pacific region. This was led by highly esteemed scholars and professors, such as professors Michael Small (SFU and UBC) and Jennifer Allan (Cardiff University), and Dr. Sandeep Pai of Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). They spoke on the strengths and weaknesses of the climate conference in creating a more sustainable future as well as the equity implications of a climate agreement that will affect both the Global North and Global South. Karolina Lagercrantz, who has participated in COP26 and is a current MA candidate in IHEID Geneva, gave the perspective of the activists on the ground at COP26 and as an up-and-coming scholar in the area of climate governance.
