Flat Tire, the albums announcement track, tips its hat to old reggae from the 60’s. Inspired by the records Kendras parents would bring home from trips to Jamaica, the tune brings you a catchy, bouncy chorus you just cant get out of your head. Flat Tire was recorded with all vintage gear and tracked through a Tascam 388. It also features Ray Jacildo, collaborator of The Black Keys and Yola, on piano and organ.
The B-side of the 45 features a dub remix of Flat Tire by the one & only Paul Cherry. As soon as we recorded Flat Tire, Terry and I agreed immediately that there should be some sort of dub remix… the tune was made for that, Kendra says. Terry threw out Cherrys name and they agreed he was the man for the job. The final product perfectly echoes classic late 60s dub by building from of the basics of the song...stripping the production down further, playing up the reverb and adding echoes, pauses and delays in all the right places.

Brooklyn based singer-songwriter Kendra Morris returns with whats next...a new tune called In My House. Recorded live in Loveland, Ohio and co-produced by Leroi Conroy and Kendra herself, the track is a sonic exploration of chaos and catharsis. ...Its an overlap of my messy little New York apartment and the clutter that’s constantly evolving in my own head, Kendra explains, They both can get pretty messy. However, they’re all my own and I get to take a step back, see them for what they are and then clean up and move forward. I can’t really find peace until my messes are cleaned up but they are necessary to me being the person that I am.
Musically, In My House pulls in a wide range of influences, from 60s soul doo-wop to the flow of Busta Rhymes. The rhythm and melody of the track came to life as Kendra was messing around with her Casio and walking around her neighborhood saying tongue twisters. In My House was recorded live with all vintage guitars and amps and ran through the Tascam 388. Kendras vocals were tracked in one single take.
In My House marks the start of a new journey for Kendra. We hope youll play along...

Step into the world of Taylor Williams, a talented young soul singer from Greensboro, NC. First introduced to the Colemine family via Indications guitarist Blake Rhein, he formed an instant creative connection with label owner Terry Cole. His debut single for Colemine was recorded at Portage Lounge in Loveland, OH with the help of Charles Alley on drums and Leroi Conroy on production. Taylor simply oozes talent, charisma, and kindness. Shortly after the rhythm tracks were cut for Dreaming, Taylor quickly wrote out the hook, verses, and had his vocals down on his first take. This is just the beginning for this up and comer on the soul scene, keep your eyes on him.
