This guy got me out of bed early on a Saturday morning but I still stayed calm and tried to have some fun.
This is only the second time I have had to deal with a bailiff at my door. I usually manage to deal with debt collectors and such just with letters and counter threats. All based on what I learnt from beatthebailiffsandthebanks.co.uk and now I create my own bespoke letters.
I actually wanted to go to court over this one, to coincide with the documentary, but they were having none of it. They passed it onto Chandlers and after a few letters back and fourth Chandlers decided to commit fraud by inferring they could use force to enter my property, over a parking ticket, on their first visit.
I am now putting a case together to present to the police under the fraud Act 2006 - Fraud by False Representation.
The only time an enforcement officer can use force to enter your property, with regards to a parking ticket, is if they have already entered peacefully or you have signed a Warrant of Control or something similar. Watch they guys face when I say "I have to sign it first." You can see in his eyes the game is up!
The first time I dealt with bailiffs I knew nothing. I just told them to Fuck Off! and they did. This time I had no fear, because I know I am right, and I just stood my ground and laughed at his ignorance - much more powerful than anger.
Also any footage you film in public or your own private property is yours and you can do with it what you will. Let them know they are being filmed and make sure the camera is overt, as the laws are different for hidden filming.
This guy didn't think so, but just ask yourself one question. If a crime was caught on CCTV do you think the police would have to ask the criminal for his authority before they could use it to prosecute him?
Of course not, that would be stupid just like this guy.
