Why do so many sane people obsessively desire or seek self-destruction? Is our consciousness mortal? Why does consciousness not perceive the concept of death? Where does the thought arise from: "Blast it all, let all this world collapse, let it end soon"? Where is our instinct of self-preservation? Where is our will to live, and why is all this happening?
