Join Redfern Adventures for the 2019 Islands and Highlands Expedition
Dates: Monday October 7th to Thursday October 17th, 2019
This expedition takes you to the spectacular island of New Britain to explore a steaming volcano, meet the incredibles tribes of the Baining Mountains for a traditional Mumu feast (cooked on hot stones) and a fire dance. Discover abandoned WW2 relics, planes, tanks and secret submarine tunnels.
We then travel to the highlands of Papua New Guinea to meet four incredible tribes, the Huli wigmen, the mudmen, the skeleton men and the Hagen wigmen. We join each for a cultural demonstration in their villages, then spot up to 6 species of birds of paradise and explore cloudforest trails filled with orchids and carnivorous pitcher plants!
