Second album released by italian EBM/Industrial band Pankow, in 1987 for Contempo Records.
Pankow, often written with Cyrillic characters ПAНКОВ, are an Italian EBM band strongly oriented towards post-industrial musical research, formed in Florence in 1979. The band, which according to some is today one of the most famous italian bands in the world, is considered in the United States one of the most important bands on the industrial scene, even if the americans use this term with a meaning that includes a broader and more generic spectrum than in Europe.
With "Freiheit Fuer Die Sklaven" released in 1987, the band fully achieves what will be their recognition sound.
The album also contains, in addition to the covers of "Girls And Boys" by Prince and "In Heaven" from the soundtrack of "Eraserhead" by David Lynch, also one of the songs destined to become a classic band dance song, "Gimme More (Much More)", which will also be released in the 1989 EP/MiniAlbum "Freedom For The Slaves". Both albums featured the artistic co-production of Adrian Sherwood, former collaborator of bands such as Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten, Skinny Puppy and Cabaret Voltaire.
