Precarious jobs. Racism on the rise. Housing crisis. Economy slowing down. Since it’s started, the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the fragility of our system and how much inequalities it creates.

In this event we have a unique opportunity to come out of this public health crisis and set up a better future.

Come learn and discuss with our experts how we could achieve a Just & Green Recovery and, with it, systemic change:

• Brittany Andrew-Amofah is the Senior Policy and Research Analyst at the Broadbent Institute and commentator to CBC News and others. Brittany’s work focuses on bridging the world of policy, politics and social justice. She works to provide accessible political information that enables others to feel motivated and empowered to become involved in the political process. Her primary focus in on engaging those who’ve been excluded and disenfranchised from the Canadian political system due to system racism, colonization and the concentration of power.�
• Khelsilem is Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and Kwakwa̱ka̱’wakw, an elected Councillor and Spokesperson for the Squamish Nation and a member of BC government’s Climate Solutions Council. His lifelong work has been focused on governance, Indigenous languages, and dreams of progressive social change. He’s founded language schools, sits on numerous boards, is running to be on the board for Vancity Credit Union, and has been a frequent media commentator and public speaker about defending our coast from oil spills and climate emergency�
• Ananda Lee Tan has been organizing grassroots social movements since 1986. Over the last decade, Ananda helped convene and organize the Climate Justice
Alliance, a network of frontline communities organizing to dismantle the dig, burn, drive,
dump economy, and cultivate Just Transition strategies for local, living, caring and
sharing economies that serve people and planer.�
