Hey YouTubers, here is an unboxing and first look at my Panasonic HC-V720 camcorder. I managed to get this with around a 33% discount as this was a display model in PC World.
This model is a mid-range camera that records at 1080p up to 50 frames per second, records audio in stereo or 5.1, and it has an intelligent 50x zoom (26x optical). This will also take digital still pictures up to 20.4 megapixels.
The bonus on this model for me is the fact that it has a microphone socket and a removable shoe adaptor, perfect to upgrade to a better microphone in the future.
Additionally, this can connect to WiFI to stream live video to Ustream, computers can connect directly to the camera to retrieve footage, and can also be controlled remotely via a smartphone app.
This camera will now be my primary camera for all future videos, replacing having to use my iPhone (which has done a brilliant job to date).
