Journeyman Pictures | Palm Oil in the Land of Orangutans | Trailer | Coming Soon @journeyman | Uploaded September 2024 | Updated October 2024, 2 minutes ago.
The palm oil industry has long been criticized for deforestation and threatening wildlife. However, on Borneo, a partly Danish-owned palm oil plantation, United Plantations, is trying to do things differently. The film takes its audience along on this adventurous journey, allowing us to witness the “wild” nature flourishing again, the new burgeoning birdlife, the beautiful rainforest plants, and the orangutans thriving in their restored habitat. And poses the question that maybe industrial agriculture is actually able to coexist productively and peacefully with nature while meeting the modern world's growing demand for raw materials?
