Join me as I tour the Pakuwon Mall Jogja, home to one of the most unique movie theater experiences I've ever seen—the Velvet Theater with actual beds!
As a self-proclaimed mall connoisseur on a mission to visit every mall in Southeast Asia, I had to check this one out. Located just a few miles from Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta, Pakuwon Mall is a stunning, modern destination that feels high-end yet remains incredibly affordable.

The Journey: A 30-minute Grab ride across Yogyakarta for just $2 (plus a 100% tip!).
The Food: Exploring the incredible food options, from $5 chicken parmesan to a $3 breakfast feast.
The Mall Tour: A look at the massive atrium, the variety of shops, and the "sitting culture" I’ve come to appreciate here.
The Main Event: A full look at the Velvet Theater where you can literally lay down in a bed with pillows to watch a movie. With popcorn and a drink, the whole luxury experience was only about $15!
I also share my thoughts on the movie I saw, "65," and why the feathered dinosaurs were such a cool, realistic touch.
