In a recent interview with China Daily, Zamir Ahmed Awan, chair of the Global Silk Route Research Alliance, noted that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has expanded its mandate and achieved full-fledged cooperation in all dimensions while Western powers are flexing their muscles.
"It will emerge as a Global South power," he said, adding, "The Shanghai Cooperation Organization has given a platform for the Global South to sit together and formulate a policy where we can utilize our own human resources and natural resources to change our own lifestyle." #SCO
