In this session, I come into the studio without a clear plan — just a feeling that the painting needs more depth, more contrast, more space to breathe. You’ll see me slow things down, wipe paint back, soften edges, and sit with the question of what wants to happen next rather than forcing an answer.
This video lives right in that in-between stage of a painting — when nothing feels finished, everything feels a little uncertain, and intuition has to lead. I’m responding to color, composition, and layers as they emerge, sometimes confidently, sometimes hesitantly, and often saying out loud what I’m unsure about as I go.
There are moments of building, moments of doubt, and moments where something quietly clicks. You’ll also see me shift scale, prep smaller panels, layer collage, paint over, sand back, and let earlier marks reappear — not with a goal in mind, but to create surfaces that feel alive and full of possibility.
This isn’t about getting it “right.” It’s about staying present with the work long enough for it to reveal what it needs — even when I don’t yet know what that is.
So settle in and paint along with me if you like. This is one honest studio session, exactly as it unfolded.
