Today I challenged myself to paint these red flowers even though I don't have red on my palette. I can get close by mixing certain colors but ultimately it comes down to using adjacent color wisely. Red is such a challenging color to paint, as my eyes get tired from the saturation and I lose focus easily. #PleinAirpril #gouache

The PleinAirpril challenge is to paint outside every day during April, to build a healthy practice routine, to learn, to explore where you live, etc. It's my favorite art challenge of the year.
