From the Tubac to the Grand Canyon, hundreds of plein air painters participated in the 3rd annual Paint Arizona Day on April 4, 2026. The practice of observing and painting directly in the environment began in the 1830s and is now widely practiced across the globe. Practitioners of this difficult method appreciate their connection to nature and community and say it provides a sense of presence that is often missing in our chaotic world.
