. So I recently purchased a Packard Bell Legend 100CD from the good ole electronics bay (also known as eBay) to add to my collection of other vintage computer systems. Here I take it out of the Amazon box it was shipped in complete with an original Packard Bell PS/2 keyboard, look it over, run some diagnostics with Navratil and PC-Doctor and then take a look at the hard disk "contents".
Specs of this particular machine at the time of filming:
-Packard Bell 4x4 Desktop Case (4 drive bays, 4 expansion slots)
-Packard Bell 520r "Robin" Socket 4 Mainboard (Bad DS12887 RTC)
-American Megatrends Inc (AMI) BIOS
-Video: Cirrus Logic 5434 Onboard 1MB | Cirrus Logic 5446 PCI 1MB*
-Intel Pentium 60MHz Socket 4 CPU (FDIV Error)
-48MB Fast Page RAM
-2.1GB Seagate HDD
-4x TEAC CD-ROM*
-1.44MB Panasonic FDD
-3Com Etherlink III 3c509-Combo Network Card*
-Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 CT1780 Sound Card*
Since the time of the video the Dallas RTC has been replaced with a DS12887A+ that is setup to be removable/replaceable and items marked with an * have been removed/replaced. I did say that the Cirrus Logic 5446 PCI card was 2MB (as was indicated in the seller's listing) however after examining it it is in fact only 1MB which back up the reporting from Navratil and PC-Doctor.
