This is a glimpse into my personal story; a story rooted in privilege. Good news! 9 out of 80 solutions are things we can have a direct personal impact in. The other 71? Those will require more fundamental systems changes, which as individuals we can't control. But! We can make a change though political activism & choosing a climate friendly or climate positive career path.

It was a great experience to learn more about our changing climate and solutions in place for dealing with its impacts. In this video I'll take you through campus, talk about the sessions, interview a speaker, and leave you with my thoughts.
Big thanks to Peter Melton for the interview and my friends Courtney and Sabrina for being the stars they are!

#SustainableTravel #Parquetematización #Tourismmake a compost bin - for under $20!Sarah Karver2019-03-12 | San Diego, sadly, does not have city wide composting so I've been looking for a sustainable and cheap way to get rid of my food scraps. Thankfully, my sustainable friend Courtney (on Instagram posting RAD vegan recipes as @cookwithcourt) offered to help me make my OWN bin under $20! Come with us as we goof our way through Goodwill, Ace Hardware, and Home Depot to finally create the lovely compost bin sitting on my balcony in my apartment.

#ThriftHaul #Secondhand #Goodwillairbnb is problematic, heres whySarah Karver2019-01-29 | Airbnb seems like a great way to interact with local culture and a more personal alternative to hotels. However, studies and reporting have shown that its business model isn't all sunshine and rainbows.
Today's video addresses these problems and gives some solutions on how to book home-stays in a more socially responsible way. The core message of Airbnb is great, but it all depends on how users and hosts utilize the platform and how Airbnb follows laws and regulations.

#AirBnb #SustainableTravelthis is why I quit fast fashion and you should tooSarah Karver2019-01-21 | Fashion has the power to be a change agent. But until the industry cleans up its environmental practices and treats its workers fairly, I refuse to buy from fast fashion brands.
In this video I'll explain the tipping point for me, share some facts, and some solutions. I hope you'll join me in quitting fast fashion.

#QuitFastFashion #FashionRevolutionshould you visit roatan, honduras?Sarah Karver2019-01-14 | This holiday break I spent seven days on the Honduran island of Roatàn with my family, which is about 1.5 hours by ferry from mainland. We snorkeled, held monkeys, and suntanned. I'm very thankful to have a family who values travel.
In this video I'll share my favorite and least favorite parts of my vacation, and give you insight into whether Roatàn would be a place well suited for what you want out of a vacation. Personally, the activities available on the island overall weren't what I enjoy and I didn't like the cruise ship atmosphere. However, snorkeling is absolutely stunning!
