The genre of Études came to fruition during the onset of the 19th century. This was in parallel to the surge in popularity of the piano to the general public. As more individuals took on the instrument, either as pastime or for a higher educational purpose, numerous composers devised short pedagogical compositions to facilitate technical and musical growth.
Rachmaninoff’s Études-Tableaux are a more modernized conception of etudes, as “Tableaux” focuses on the musical depiction of “pictures". No. 2 features a recurring 2-against-3 rhythm in both hands; listeners will notice the quoting of Dies Irae plainchant in the left-hand.

I'm hoping to upload some classical and video game/anime arrangements in the future. For now, I'll start off the summer with this jazzy uplifting tune.

Nier has many beautiful soundtracks that I wish to share. This is one of my favorite arrangements in the Gestalt and Replicant Piano Collection. The Chopin-esque piece starts out beautifully and picks up momentum towards the mid-point climax. A true joy to listen to and play.

Don't spread hate.
Unfortunately the legendary comment thread has been deleted due to the closing of Prolitening's previous school account. Nevertheless, please go support his new channel!
I also thank the lord Jesus Charlie himself for blessing this video youtu.be/foSAi-olfck
For those who are wondering, the plot had achieved a *good ending* status. Try to find Hen\*ai guy’s comment in Cr1tikal’s video. We’re basically married now.
My idea of mediocrity is that it had room for improvement, it was not bad. Wasn’t trying to insult the performance, just an honest opinion. Obviously could have worded that better though! Prolitening told me he understood my intentions were not hostile, so we pals now. Stay tuned for potential collab!
Edit 2: The potential collab is happening! Come check out the Ultimate Rush E for 8 hands! Featuring @litening5826, @TheMeeksDuo, and myself!

Kapustin fused the traditions of both classical piano repertoire and improvisational jazz, combining jazz idioms and classical music structures. It was tragic to hear of Kapustin's death earlier this month (2 July 2020). Although this was the first piece I have ever played from this composer, I am certainly going to learn the other Etudes, as they are both extremely pleasant to play and listen to.
Thank you Nikolai Kapustin for all your music, and may you rest in peace.
