The Company of Wolves (1984) UK Theatrical Trailer [HD] thingsandtings 2021-05-21 | [THIS TRAILER IS FOR AN 18-RATED FILM (R in the US) AND CONTAINS DISTURBING IMAGERY. You watch this at your own risk.I initially made this an 18+ only upload but because it made it pretty much impossible for enough people interested to watch just this upload alone, even somehow not reaching those who are over-18 *and* are interested, I've removed the 18+ caveat. The change was made on February 23rd 2021.]Sourced directly from the 2005 DVD release of the film (which I have recently purchased brand new) and upscaled to HD via Topaz Video Enhance AI.I recently checked this film out and found myself really enamoured by it, but was also frustrated by the lack of a good-quality trailer upload of the thing so tried my hand at offering that. Was *very* close to just being used as a source for a recreation of the trailer using this, Blu-ray footage of the film (which I also perchased) and recreated titles and logos, to be submitted to my dorkier 2nd channel things2tings, but I was so impressed with how this on its own looks that I decided it's enough. Now, YouTube now has the original trailer in as-intended widescreen and in HD! You're welcome. :DAlso, the first upload on here that I decided to make 18+ only. I believe the film itself these days could do okay by being re-rated 15 as "It: Chapter Two" comes close in terms of the grizzlier edges and got a 15 but even with that said, the images of Stephen Rea pulling skin off his face can still be very justifiably upsetting and squirm-inducing, so I figured as this is a channel that happens to have a lot of nostalgic initially-targetted-at-kids uploads, this'd be the right choice. Ill Do Anything (Musical Cut!) - Rare Theatrical Trailer (1993) thingsandtings 2019-09-11 | While the film ITSELF isn't lost media, this version of the film really is. Before the test screenings that Columbia put out that made James L Brooks de-musicalize his ambitious comedy-drama/musical project, they started already marketing it on the odd VHS tape in the U.S. Hence, we have this!2 Prince-written songs feature here and are the only snippets of the official OST versions of said songs that eventually never surfaced because of the cuts and because of many rights issues preventing a true Director's Cut.Uploaded here separately and slightly (attemptedly) restored by me so this can be preserved for lost media fans, as well as Prince fans and people who like these sorta movies. Anyway, SURPRISE!Digging through my old DVD-Rs, I came across a mysterious one that was unmarked. I tried playing it regularly and it wouldn't work, however through just going into the files and playing what was there...I found this! Never thought I'd ever see this again, so...viola!I really liked the stuff they did with the continuity of Channel 4's 25th anniversary night. I was born in the early 90's, so the original Channel 4 look wasn't as organically nostalgic to me as it might be to some others, but a little part of me felt sad it only lasted a day. x)You may also remember that I posted, a veeery long time ago, one of the "Special Ad Breaks" that Channel 4 would play during that same night to commemorate the occasion. Now...considering the slightly culturally insensitive way folks in the West tend to goggle at Japan's ""weirdness"" sometimes, irregardless of the fact that they *too* have defined, varied, *intentional* senses of humour that...well...every culture worldwide has in some form, this is a bit of a loaded subject so, allow me to try and set things straight:The guy who posted these originally was a former American expat who was in Japan in the 90's. In late 2007-early 2008, I made DVDs of these Japanese commercial compilation uploads I found on YouTube that I really liked (I was 15, yes, I was always a dork) and fortunately, that included these compilations that disappeared off YouTube from the original uploader's suspension. But here's what I remember: the guy was a former American expat who lived and worked in Japan in the 90's.He created 3-4 of these Japanese commercial compilations (or "CM" as they call it there) and themed them, like "Nice", "Funny" and such. I *think* this one's "Nice" but I'm not 100% sure.Either way, this is *very* easily my favourite one of those compilations. [AUDIO RESTORED*] Prince - The Black Album UK Advert (1994) thingsandtings 2018-09-29 | *Speculatively restored, going by visual cues in the advert itself - details below.So...I was gonna wait until around the date this album got officially released or the day/month anniversary of when this perticularly rare, unique ad was broadcast (24th November 1994, thanks to SozLike back in '08) but...I couldn't wait. x)This is obviously NOT my own capture, but now that I could see people managed to upload this album on YT without troubles, thought now would be a good time to get a version up where all the music's there.NOW, as said above this is all speculative. Gotta hand it to the marketing department behind this ad though, for *some* reason, they decided to give the played music names and "When 2 R In Love" plays, the lyrics are even there. So using the titles of tracks displayed prominently enough and using those little stereo bars there, I got a rough idea what played and where. No idea how close I actually am to the real thing, though if one day a *much* nicer quality version of this could be uploaded with the real audio, that would be cool. For now, here's this~I listened to the album a few years ago after finding this ad. It was okay. The mystique behind the album is more interesting than the album *itself*. I'm also glad Warner decided not to re-release this as part of making the rest of Prince's back-catalogue avaliable online and on streaming (naughty naughty, capitalism), though if they ever decide to re-release it as a posthumous thing...yeah...dunno what I'll do with this upload at that point.Also wanna know two more things:1) I put some subtle VHS distortion sound on here too so it would all be more organic.And 2) Apologies that the video quality is not fantastic, hardly much I can do about that. 240p was the highest resolution avaliable and attempts to boost the framerate to something more accurate made it look like *butt*, so there we are.R.I.P.
