The Oxford Dictionary of African American English (ODAAE) is a joint project of Oxford Languages (Oxford University Press) and Harvard University’s Hutchins Center for African & African American Research.

The project is spearheaded by Prof Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Editor-in-Chief, Director of the Center, and Alphonse Fletcher University Professor at Harvard. It is a project is funded in part by grants from the Mellon (mellon.org/) and Wagner Foundations (www.wfound.org).
