Overwatch: Classic arrives on November 12 for a limited time with 3 weeks of 6v6 with the return of two Tanks with no limits at all. The moment people have been waiting for, Overwatch 6v6 return in this classic event which will feature heroes and balance from popular moments in the game’s history, ranging from the fast paced and frantic gameplay of the 2017 Moth Meta to the triple-tank, triple-support style of “Goats.” In the first Overwatch: Classic event, the developers will be taking it all the way back to the original 1.0 release from May 2016, which includes many abilities that haven’t been seen for years and all the chaotic gameplay from that era.

[How to Play]
Overwatch 2 Menu - Play - Unranked - Overwatch: Classic
This is not at all related to the 6v6 test that will happen in Season 14, as that test will be the current balance and content of the OW2 game that they have currently available, while this event will be a throwback to the OG Overwatch game back in 2016 where you only had the original 21 Heroes (with Offense & Defense coming back), the 12 original maps across the 4 original game modes - Assault, Escort, Hybrid, and Control. All the heroes will also have their original abilities, the best example being Bastion as his kit is different than what he has now. Tracer is relatively the same as she was back then, with the exception of her ultimate being high damage.
In the first few days of the event, there will be no hero limits & no role limits. After that they will enable the single hero limit for the rest of the event. The maps that received major reworks for OW2 will be exactly the same for the classic mode, so it's not exactly 100% like the original Overwatch. However, the mode will force everyone to use the default OW1 skins, so it doesn't matter what skin you're currently wearing (past event modes have done this). Another slight thing that didn't change is Cole Cassidy's original name (he is referred by his current name in the official Overwatch news on the classic mode), although it's completely understandable regarding the circumstances around it.
Check the time stamps to see the iconic abilities that used to be in the game from the past times of Overwatch. For anyone who has never played original launch of the game, it'll be a very different experience, as the game would end up receive balance updates and quality of life changes throughout the years. For players like me who have played it back then, it'll be a blast to the past with a dose of nostalgia.
