First, the rules: no food, no water, no help, just me, Case, and my truck, and whatever I could hunt, catch, or forage. Fall in Alberta doesn’t make fishing easy. The nights are cold, the food’s scarce, and every mistake costs energy. The one nice thing about Alberta's seasons is that we usually have reasonable temperatures in the fall, it's often us locals' favorite time to explore, but when the snow rain hit, our temperatures dropped below ten degrees celcius or for you yanks thats (52)degrees, so Case was happy to sit in the camper with the heat on once at camp, and overnight it dropped even more.
This trip was a test: could I make it two days off the land with no food or water? We travel deep into the backcountry to find new areas to explore and discover what food they might have for us, or whether I would have to eat Case's dog food, lol.
