“I wanted to confront some of the questions and fears I had growing up in Lebanon,” says Director Mounia Akl, “[to] explore stories that I was maybe too shy to explore in the past.”

Akl’s award-winning directorial debut, COSTA BRAVA, LEBANON, is a simmering intergenerational family drama and an elegant political allegory that boldly shines a light on government corruption and ineptitude.
