This beautiful song was first recorded in 1988 by the late great Hawaiian singer Israel Kamakawiwoʻole (Iz). It is listed by the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". It has been used in many movies and TV shows.
