Just 10-50ft off the coast of Montauk NY I came across over 20 sandbar sharks in 1-3ft of water. I was able to capture 13 in one frame, a sight I never thought I would witness in New York! This area is known for surfcasting and there is a popular surfing area nearby, but this area is not for swimming. This drone footage was taken 7/19/25 at Montauk Point, NY not far from the Montauk Point Lighthouse.
