WELL that sucks - but I am not going to let that pull me down!One of those lost videos was a Christmas Speed Paint for this year so... I kind of had to pull up a new one ^^; I could have skipped this year's Christmas video but I decided not to :'3 I took part in my own server's Secret Santa and figured that it could be that said Christmas video for this year ^^ Originally I was debating on adding some commentary but since I am at my grandparents' place and seeing my mom every day, I sadly don't have that extra time for scripting and doing the voiceover so... It is what it is!As mentioned, this drawing is a Secret Santa for my server! We are here with a finished MAP part for @LadyTeelia's Multi Animator Project, centered around her the first book of her Strong Hearts Are Mandatory -series!I have animated her stuff before in the form of a mini AMV: youtu.be/nZoPXdg6TckI quite honestly wasn't expecting to be animating her characters once again so soon :'3 However, I had offered to be a backup to her Mandatory MAP and as she approached me with a part to offer, I took it once I had the time ^^ After finishing several older projects of mine it feels INCREDIBLE to start something from scratch and finish in a reasonable time frame!I was debating hard whether I should shade this or not but I decided that in order to create something that I am proud of, I decided to shade the characters ^^ I also wanted to use "Inner Shadow" Layer Mode in After Effects to help and make a highlighted rim... However, it didn't, unfortunately, work out the way I wanted so I decided to not mess with it this time ^^;Minus that little issue, I am quite happy with how this turned out! While I am pleased with the visuals (colors and composition), I am the proudest of the animation itself~ I feel like I am AT LAST getting the hang of making weighty movements and it gets me SUPER excited to continue and begin new projects ^^I hope that the next video I can finish will be the most month away... My job has kept me busy and Yellow (my comic) has eaten a lot of my free time so I haven't had that much time to animate recently... HOWEVER, now that majority of my pandemic setback has begun to ease as the world around me has become more or less how it was before everything was struck down to chaos, I can confidently say that everything I had piled up is now mostly sorted out and done ^^With this piece I wanted to get a little wild and play around with warm and cold tones - literally :'3 I wanted to play around with blue and red hues so incorporating them into the background in a sensible manner was admittedly quite tricky! And it is finally done and here ♥Words can't explain how PROUD I am about the final outcome of this particular animation! This for sure is THE TOP tier work I have done and I am so proud to see my improvement over the years with this ^^ Sure, there are a few frame glitches that I tried my best to fix but since my 2019 brain wasn't adjusted to the norm of 24fps... I have to pay the price somehow, unfortunately-However, regardless of the frames per second -hiccup, I am on the brink of speechlessness since it feels surreal?? A set of MAP parts that I figured I wouldn't be able to finish I ACTUALLY pulled to the finish line at last! Light-hearted filled with communication and laughs~Thrush has been around as long as the rest of my Path of Stars characters and was known as Thrushstorm before :3 I revamped his design a bit compared to Fern and Thistle - I wanted to keep the original idea behind his design (as well as the colors) but make it more manageable to draw and animate for the future projects~In case you didn't already guess, this MAP had a color palette that was required to be followed! While I wouldn't normally get drawn to this kind of sepia tones, I have to say: I had a blast working with them~ Plus considering the feel of the MAP, it works ^^ It was a pleasant throw out of my color-comfort-zone~Thank you so much for @Warberrie letting me be part of this wonderful MAP! Thank you so much for giving me a chance to animate these beauties~ These designs are something I'll never get bored of every frame with them was a blast ^^I have worked on this AMV for an embarrassingly long time ^^; Even though this took a while to complete, I am really proud of myself for pulling to the finish line and not giving up! I learned A TON from this experience and I am for sure a thousand times smarter thank you to this project~ The past months have been the ones I have dedicated the most time for this project since I wanted to finally finish it without any work, studies or anything else alike distracting me!You can probably pick apart different times I worked on this AMV and...I honestly don't mind, since despite all the time this project has been through I am happy with what I managed to get out~ It was a great learning experience and I experimented with a lot of things even though some of those things may not appear as shiny and "new" as they did back when I implemented those techniques and ways of working :'3 I guess that shows how much I have grown as an animator? Because of that fond memory of pride that I hold dear, I wanted to see how far I've come with my animation (and perhaps even artistic) skills since then! The first thoughts regarding this remake came alive about 3-4 years ago? However, because life loved to toss me around I never had enough time to get started with it. Last year (2020, August) I sat down in hopes to make this remake at long last. Even though I didn't manage to finish it for the 7th anniversary of the original AMV, I still managed to put out a preview to give you all a little taste of what was about to come ^^Even though this took "1 year and 2 months" OBVIOUSLY I didn't work on this all the said time, haha~ I had moments during that time when I didn't touch this project for weeks but I'm glad it is finished, none the less ♥--This AMV is about Thistle's and Fern's relationship that isn't very rosy at the romantic end even though they could be fit as mates. Thistle is trying to persuade Fern, attempting to tell her that despite her grief of her former mate (who passed away seasons prior) she should have strength in her to move on and open up her eyes to what's right in front of her.Even though Thistle is desperate he would never imagine forcing Fern to begin a relationship with him, no matter how much it hurts him. He wants to give her time but at times, he is frustrated with her how she - despite the grief - refuses to admit that she has obvious feelings echoing back to his.--Thistle(pelt) and Fern(leaf) are part of my story, Path of Stars, that I picked back up in September 2020, and have begun to revamp into an original story! Originally (as the names probably suggest) Path of Stars was a Warriors OC (fan) comic of mine, telling the story of Fernleaf. I always loved the story dearly and it took my friend from Uni to tell me that hey, why don't I attempt making it into an original story? So... Ever since I have begun to brainstorm a new concept that would fit the story's needs~ The story is FAR from finished but... At least I have an excuse to draw these old, dear characters of mine again ♥Also for the sake of clarification; when I came up with the name "Path of Stars", the Path of Stars in Dawn of the Clans series had not come out :'3 It's both a funny yet bittersweet coincidence and I still laugh at it time by time! But I will still keep the name "Path of Stars" of the story since I was the one who came up with it in 2011 (even 2010?) and the Warriors PoS came out in 2015 so... OC ~ Youre No Fun Anymore MAP part 10 CuteFlare 2021-06-26 | ~~~~~*~*~*~PLEASE, Read the Description before any questions!~*~*~*~~~~~"This will be quick" is a classic lie we all tell ourselves, especially when we out of impulse join into a MAP (Multi Animator Project) with a short deadline...:'3So yes, this part started off as something similar to my previous Hollyleaf MAP part where I thought this would be quick and simple...BUT OH BOY WAS I WRONG xDThis wasn't a difficult part to complete by any means! But I underestimated a BIG TIME how much time would go into this part... The fact it has been super hot in Finland lately (+30C in my area) and my apartment not having air conditioning has also affected the process much more than I'd like to admit ^^;But I finished it, at last! And I'm very happy with the result~Since this MAP was hosted by the lovely LadyTeelia and the song slapped some good Yellow vibes, I had to go with my comic filled with a relationship drama :3c The star of this part is Jake! Fernpelt X Cheetahstrike PMV AMV ~ Click & Scroll STORYBOARD CuteFlare 2021-05-25 | ~~~~~*~*~*~PLEASE, Read the Description before any questions!~*~*~*~~~~~Happy birthday @WoIff ♥I bet you didn't expect this to drop anytime soon, didn't you?:3c Granted, I have talked about making this into a finished version one day... But I feel like storyboard alone is quite a leap in progress tho~So...For others, who are probably super confused about what's going on here, let me give a brief rundown:This storyboard focuses on my and Wolf's Warriors OCs called Fernpelt (PineClan) and Cheetahstrike (WillowClan) and how they progress from crush to becoming (forbidden) mates.00:17 - The first section is dedicated to Cheetahpaw's perspective when they meet for the first time. They meet, have a good time and as they have to part ways, Cheetahpaw spends his time longing after this sassy PineClan apprentice. At last, he decides to go back to the Great Oak (Gathering area) and as he reaches it, he's surprised by what he sees...01:43 - From there we go to Fernpaw's point-of-view. She's hunting in the spruce forest but is distracted by the thoughts of this WillowClan apprentice who seemed to match up with her sass and was a lot of fun in her eyes. Instead of continuing her assessment, Fernpaw decides to go to the Great Oak, just to admire and relive the memories of the Gathering place, where she met the tom. As she's there, Cheetahpaw seems to arrive at the same time and from there, they decide to spend some time together.02:17 - As time goes by it gets harder for the two of them to stay apart. This gets to a point where they sometimes would sneak out of camp in hopes to cross paths or even catch a glimpse of one another. The final shot at the bridge is both of them singing to the sky, hoping that their feelings are mutual.02:52 - Once they have earned their warrior names - Fernpelt and Cheetahstrike - the two start to meet up more often.This storyboard obviously doesn't cover their entire story but I feel like that still includes plenty~The reason why they don't have eyes in this storyboard is I wanted to focus on the body language and poses more so than the eyes. The eyes will, of course, exist whenever I finish this, but they are more so a detail that will help everything to come together in the end ^^I hope that makes sense!I'm really happy with this storyboard and I hope you all will enjoy watching it ♥If you don't mind, Comment! I was more than happy to offer this to them~As the theme suggests, this is Leopardstar watching a sunset in the Forest Territories. You can technically see a bit of Woodlands (or twoleg area?) on the right and ThunderClan on the left!I loved working with the colors ♥ Drawing sunsets is always a joy to do! This was quite a trip of nostalgia! Quite opposite, actually~ Despite not uploading much I have been working on multiple projects and processing them all quite equally so perhaps it'll pay off as in more frequent uploads in the future ^^Thank you for your patience and I hope you all will enjoy what's about to come ♥At the start of this week, wonderful @nirawa69 went ahead and uploaded a MAP (Multi Animator Project) call for 48 hours PMV (Picture Music Video) MAP and I thought this was a perfect chance for me to spark up some more activity here while I work on the "bigger" stuff :3cNot only was the timing perfect from "sparking activity onto my channel" -point of view but in a roleplay server "Walk of the Stars" (formerly GAW) I had happened to have done a roleplay with my boyfriend, Anton, between our characters Nightstar and Petalstar and THIS SONG LOWKEY FITS THEIR CONVERSATION FROM THAT ROLEPLAY SO WELLI took few artistic liberties with this part; for example, the time during the roleplay is late Leaf Bare and uh... Leopardstar ~ This is me MAP part 20 CuteFlare 2020-04-18 | ~~~~~*~*~*~PLEASE, Read the Description before any questions!~*~*~*~~~~~●Want to commission an animation from me?Check this website for more details: animationcomms.carrd.coI have been following this MAP (Multi Animator Project) since day one when @Brownycat first uploaded the MAP call back two years ago and I was so excited that Leopardstar was getting her own feature among the MAP community! Unfortunately, as I was busy at the time, I only asked to be a back-up but I was still very hyped to see how this MAP would process.Unfortunately, I forgot about this MAP until @KimSxxiny went ahead and rehosted it. Seeing that there were several parts open, I regained the same excitement I had back in the day for this MAP and asked for a part and I ended up getting it~ Thank you, Shina, for letting me be part of this MAP, this was certainly a journey and very fun project to work with ♥I originally joined to this MAP with the thought "I'll get to it after I finish this other part I have at hand" but jokes on me, this turned out to be a 1 month MAP and 2 weeks later, I managed to get this part done! I feel like this part honestly benefited from the stricter deadline and I'm very proud what I managed to produce within the said two weeks (if we don't count three days of break in the middle...:3)Few people who I have shown this beforehand have praised that this part is the best I have done up to the date and I dare to agree! While I wouldn't have minded this part to have much more movement than it does, I think the subtle movement actually works for the favor of this part ♥ But for a certainty, I can say I LOVE the way the backgrounds turned out and atmospheres in general! It was fun to include two completely different sceneries within this single part ♥Thank you everyone on this MAP's server for your comments as well! Granted there have been other French songs that I find a good listen but this one, in particular, has gotten me hooked :3c Yet I feel like that's because the series this is attached to is the one I actively watch and am a huge fan of right now, haha~Putting that personal "bias" towards this song aside, when @Featherflight55OwO threw this MAP into one of her MAP servers, I knew immediately I wanted to take part in this~ This scene, in particular, is actually something I've played over and over inside my head ever since this song came out. It was very satisfying to actually get it out of my head and I'm quite proud of the result :3Granted, I could have honed it more (adding shading and some more detail to the background) I at the same time feel quite satisfied with this! Leafstar is my absolute favorite and I really love the fact I could throw her into the spotlight ♥Backgrounds were... A JOY to say the least :I Inside my mind I was confident that they wouldn't take that long to do but ha ha ha, I guess I even surprised myself... But hey! I am proud of them and in the end, I have NO regrets spending as much time as I did on the last background :3cI must applaud Animate though for remaining cool with me when I kept adding special effects and whatnot xD But the final result is worth it, or so I think!The only thing I am a bit unhappy with is the final camera movement on the last shot...;w; It's a bit laggy (at least on my Cintiq screen) but I hope it doesn't bother too much!But minus that detail, I am overall satisfied with this and think this is a good way to start 2020 on my channel~If you don't mind, Comment! On top of that, finding suitable music for this animation compilation proved to be more challenging than I would like to admit :'3BUT HERE IT IS, one month later but still holds up to the yearly tradition of making and posting one of these!Last year (2019) wasn't as animation active year for me as I'd have hoped. I mainly got around storyboarding, processing and sketching out already existing projects BUT while I feel like 2019 didn't exactly scream in quantity, I honestly learned A LOT which was my goal, to begin with~ ^^I have moved onto animating 24 fps, which I felt for the longest time being the most taunting number as I usually animate every single frame (1s) in a movement. At the end of 2019, I FINALLY caught the grasp on how to take advantage when animating with 2s or 3s and honestly, it was a huge improvement boost for me :3cI also did a lot of tweening last year and while that's not as exciting, I still learned more about that one as well!Overall, 2019 for me was the year of learning and actually trying to weigh and think about how I could improve and make my animations better. I am going to make another Speed Paint with a voice-over where I go in-depth about what happened to me this year since 2019 for me, this year contained a lot of highs but also some lows. Despite it, for me, this year seems to be ending at a high note and honestly, with the best kind of note I could ever ask for ♥ I can't go into the detail of it for the time being but perhaps several months down the line I can start speaking more publicly about it~Back to the drawing!I did the sketch of it on 24th and then after that, this drawing (and video) has been the only things I've been working on for the past few days~I am insanely proud of the final drawing! OC ~ Never Say Die MAP part 12 CuteFlare 2019-11-01 | ~~~~~*~*~*~PLEASE, Read the Description before any questions!~*~*~*~~~~~●Want to commission an animation from me?Check this website for more details: animationcomms.carrd.coWHAT'S THIS!?A fully animated MAP (Multi Animator Project) part??Since it's a MAP part, obviously it isn't that long (9 seconds) but words can't describe how happy I am to finally have finished something that's fully animated ;w; ♥Here's the MAP call if you want to check it out: youtu.be/h66CnYGQX7gThis animation is quite different from the usual that I do, such as the painted backgrounds and drop shadow effect! Those were actually requirements for this MAP, so obviously I went by the rules :'3I can't promise that I'll start religiously painting my backgrounds from here on out but what I got to create... I'm very happy with~ Painting isn't my strong suit and taking that into account I think I did very well!This MAP had also a set color palette, which made certain things tricky but challenging in a good way! The palette was fun to experiment with and I'm in the end very happy with the results ^^It was very nice to work with my OCs again, this time these are from a story "Jungle Cats" that's still under development from certain aspects~ I was originally going to do something with my "Blazing Will of the Heart" characters but this scene struck to my mind as soon as I heard this part so I had to go with it!What this scene is about?Hmm...
