OUTPOST 3M is a computerized clamshell dome for #telescopes and #space monitoring, designed, engineered and built in Italy by PrimaLuceLab. In this video we show you every detail of this 3 meter dome, from the fully opening design to the control electronics, the safety logic, and how we install it everywhere in the world.
Unlike traditional rotating domes, OUTPOST 3M opens completely in about 30 seconds, with four shutters moved by two electric motors. No rotation, no shutter synchronization, no limits for your #telescope. This makes it perfect for astrophotography and astronomical research, but also the ideal solution for satellite tracking, Space Situational Awareness and all-sky surveys, where response time is critical.
The dome comes with a dedicated ASCOM driver and integrates natively with our EAGLE computers and with PLAY, our software for telescope control and astrophotography.
Assembled and tested in Italy, then shipped pre-assembled and divided in just 2 parts, so the installation is simple and fast, everywhere in the world.
