Outlander Scenes That WERN'T Sexy Enough So They Had To RE-SHOOT!
Welcome back to Scene Focus, today on the channel we are going to talk about Outlander: Claire and Jamie scene had to be reshot 'It wasn't enough'! OUTLANDER has been made famous by Jamie and Claire Fraser's romance but not everything always goes to plan when it comes to the scenes. Outlander is a romantic period drama about Claire (played by Caitriona) who travels back in time to the 18th Century to be with Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan). There have been various challenges that come with coming from completely different worlds but their connection has only grown throughout the years.
Fans of the book series would have read Gabaldon's Drums of Autumn which featured a scene with the couple which involved a river. This saucy scene was brought to life for the small screen back in season four but in reality, it was nowhere near as romantic. Balfe and Heughan were shooting the moment next to a river in Scotland in November. Due to the freezing weather conditions, the actors were fully clothed but upon reviewing the scene, the producers decided they needed to do it again. “There is a nookie scene where, when we were shooting it, it [was] so freaking cold", Heughan explained to TV Line. Balfe continued: “We actually reshot, because there’s a scene in Episode One that we shot in November, when it was freezing cold. Let’s take a look at the other times scenes had to be reshot in tv series and movies. Top Gun. When your lead actress has gorgeous, flowing blonde locks like Top Gun's Kelly McGillis, eyebrows are always going to be raised when that hair is suddenly covered up by a hat. And any suspicions audiences might've had were certainly correct, as the elevator scene between her Charlie Blackwood and Tom Cruise's Maverick was a reshoot, shot long after McGillis had grown her hair out and coloured it brown for another movie (believed to be 1987's Made In Heaven). Honestly, the hat doesn't even really cover it up. Like, at all. But that's not the only scene affected - in slightly less obvious fashion, the film's memorable scene between the two characters was another reshoot, added late in production after test audiences reportedly found the film "too gay."
