After TEN LONG YEARS, I have finally finished one of my most ambitious projects yet!
Metroid: Other M: ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE EDITION is a NEW way to experience Other M. I took a game that most people, including myself, really hates and was traumatized by, and tried turning it into something good, something a little closer to how it should've been all along.
Metroid: Other M: ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE EDITION is a project I have spent ten years on bringing to life. And finally, it's done. I struggled to make this, turning something bad into something good. And now you can watch what I've worked so hard on. As a huge Metroid fan, Other M is so bad and disappointing that it is personally traumatizing to me, which is exactly why I needed to make this movie: to overwrite my bad memories with this new version of the game. For the longest time, I've felt like Other M shouldn't be canon, but I think I could live with this version being canon. I worked on this for ten long years, pretty much ever since the game came out, and this is the only way I see it as canon now.
Biggest changes I made to Other M: Adam no longer restricts Samus from using weapons, and she now uses them at HER discretion, not his, just as she always has. Samus also no longer has an episode with Ridley, but rather takes him down just like the other 5 times in the past. Adam is now stoic and cool, no longer a jerk, and finally lives up to Samus' recollection of him in Metroid Fusion. Removed tons of unnecessary dialogue, pace-killing ramblings, etc. And many, many, many other small changes! Full list of changes are in the comments below, as I literally couldn't fit them in the description due to character limit.
In other words: Metroid: Other M: ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE EDITION is the game I thought I spent $50 on pre-ordering back in 2010.
If you like Metroid but never gave Other M a chance, you're not missing much, but you might end up enjoying this movie! And if you did play Other M and didn't like it, for one, I'm sorry you went through that, but I hope this new version of the game can somewhat fix that for you. And if you did enjoy playing Other M, I hope this version of the game is still enjoyable for you, and still respects the parts you like.
