We set out to record one of the hardest sounds to capture well (due to wind noise and water spray), but with some clever techniques – and soaking wet clothes – we bring you the definitive outboard motor boat sound library.
Engine starts, stops, fails, revs, drive cycle loops, lifts, and shoreline drive-bys are all included.
Captured are a 15 HP Johnson motor, a 90 HP Mercury, and a 45 HP Johnson. Also included are some small boat footsteps and movement, and some ambience recordings of waves lapping against the side of a fishing boat.
