OUT TO PASTURE is an animated short film written and directed by Amandeep Singh.
Marcel T. Cow was once Hollywood's biggest star. As his career begins to unravel under the weight of fame, addiction, and bad decisions, the legendary actor is forced to confront one final choice: fight for redemption or lose everything.
Blending sharp comedy with the emotional beats of classic Hollywood biopics, Out to Pasture affectionately satirizes celebrity culture while exploring ambition, identity, and the cost of chasing success.
Created as Amandeep Singh's MFA thesis film at Rochester Institute of Technology, the project marked the culmination of a remarkable journey, from financial data analyst with almost no animation experience to directing a team of more than 20 artists, voice actors, musicians, and sound designers.
The film was animated primarily through traditional hand-drawn 2D animation using Toon Boom Harmony, with compositing in After Effects, additional motion graphics, and carefully crafted camera work to create a polished cinematic look. An original score, professional voice cast, and immersive surround sound mix helped bring Marcel T. Cow's world to life.
