Designed by Yu Suzuki and developed by Sega AM2, Out Run revolutionized racing games upon its release in 1986. With its innovative force-feedback moving cabinet, branching stage paths, and iconic red convertible, it captured the ultimate feeling of high-speed freedom.

The legendary soundtrack was composed by Hiroshi Kawaguchi (Hiro), leveraging Sega's PCM audio technology alongside the YM2151 sound chip. Out Run allowed players to choose their own soundtrack right at the start of the race on the in-game radio, featuring timeless classics like Magical Sound Shower, Passing Breeze, and Splash Wave.
