🧶 LIVE FOR 45 – Building Our Platypus | Legs & Flipper “Hands”! 🦆💛
Welcome back to another Live for 45 at Sam’s Yarn Basket!
Our little platypus is slowly coming together, and this week we’re moving on to those rather unusual platypus limbs! 😂
Today we’ll be working on the legs and those wonderfully strange flipper-like “hands.”
As with the rest of this project, we’re figuring things out together as we go. The aim has always been to create our platypus right here on camera, stitch by stitch, so nobody misses part of the process. That means there may be a little experimenting, a little frogging, and probably a few moments of “Well... that didn’t quite work!” — but that’s all part of the fun!
🧶 THIS WEEK WE’LL BE:
• Working out the shape and size of our platypus legs
• Creating those distinctive webbed/flipper-style “hands”
• Looking at how they should sit against the body
• Making adjustments as we go
• Chatting, crocheting and enjoying 45 minutes of yarny company together!
If you’re making your own platypus alongside me, grab your hook and yarn and join in. And if you’re simply here for the company, pop the kettle on, bring whatever is currently on your hook or needles and settle in with the Basketeers. ☕🧶
There’s absolutely no rush with this project. Live for 45 is about enjoying the process, learning together and seeing where our yarn takes us.
