Sidi Hashim Mir grew up in a town called Waterloo in Canada. After college, he moved to the Bay Area for work nearly a decade ago. He now lives in Dublin with his family. He was an active Khateeb in his hometown, Waterloo, and would like to dedicate his time to the community in the Bay Area.

Mercy as Foundation of Faith
🕌 The Prophet Muhammad taught discipline by age 10 for non-praying children, yet his Sira demonstrates overwhelming kindness, gentleness, and mercy in actual interactions, prioritizing compassion over strictness in child-rearing.
💝 The Prophet called Anas by a loving nickname, played and laughed with him instead of showing anger when the child forgot an errand, demonstrating immense patience even when children disappointed him.
Compassion Within Worship
👶 The Prophet shortened his prayer upon hearing a baby crying to avoid distressing the mother, teaching that compassion towards children remains important even during the most strict acts of worship.
🤲 The Prophet picked up a child while praying, showing that even in the most focused acts of worship, mercy towards children takes precedence over ritual perfection.
Youth Transformation Through Trust
⭐ The Prophet transformed youth through kindness and mercy rather than rules alone, sometimes giving them leadership roles which inspired them to excel in faith and become ambassadors of Islam.
Reciprocal Mercy Principle
🌟 The Prophet taught that whoever is not merciful to others will not receive Allah's mercy, establishing that showing mercy to children and others is a prerequisite for expecting divine mercy.
