We took our family deep into the Peruvian Amazon for one of the wildest adventures we’ve ever had. 🌿🐍🐬
For this summer semester, we traded classrooms for the Amazon River and spent our days searching for pink river dolphins, sloths, anacondas, poisonous frogs, giant spiders, piranhas, and pretty much anything else the jungle wanted to throw at us. We cruised the river with some very special friends, learned from local guides and communities, went piranha fishing, explored the rainforest, played soccer in a local village… and yes, somehow convinced ourselves to SWIM IN THE AMAZON. 😳
One of our favorite things about traveling as a family is watching something the kids have learned about in books suddenly become real. Animals they researched when they were little were now right in front of them, and seeing the Amazon through their eyes made this trip even more special.
We also got to share this adventure with Jon M. Chu and his family. What started as an internet friendship turned into a real-life adventure, which is exactly why we love what we do. The internet is great, but it’s even better when it leads to real experiences, real relationships, and real memories.
