Jody Lee Storozuk, 51, is the owner of Just 1 More Sports Grill, 1382 Howland Blvd., in Deltona.
Storozuk is the current vice chair of the city's Planning and Zoning Board on which he's served for more than two years.
His top three priorities:
Spending our money more wisely, eliminating waste spending.
Being a true unpolished voice for all residents of Deltona.
Work with all elected officials to bring meaningful jobs to Deltona.
Why are you running?
Storozuk: I am running for office for the people of Deltona to include my kids that have chosen this city to also raise my grandchildren. City Hall often forgets about the residents. Things need to be good for the people who live here, not concentrated on those who may choose to move to Deltona.
What is life accomplishment illuminates the kind of city commissioner you will be?
Storozuk: My time serving the U.S. Military, being in Iraq or Afghanistan, has made me value our lives in the United States. I will be there for all of the residents, every vote I make affects the entire city, not just one district. I will bring educated but common sense to the dais at City Hall.
What is something about Deltona you will fight to protect? What is something you will fight to change?
Storozuk: I love my city. My wife and I have made many friends throughout the years. We have been blessed to have our own business here. I love the residents, my neighbors and the people of Deltona. Our city is very diverse which makes it a beautiful place to call home. I will fight daily to protect our city. Our lives here are being affected by massive construction. Lot sizes are getting smaller and smaller. People made Deltona their home because of how it was set up, not for micro homes or zero-lot lines between houses. I will work with all elected to save the little space we have left.
1st Amendment to the Constitution
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The right to petition government for redress of grievances is the right to make a complaint to, or seek the assistance of, one's government, without fear of punishment or reprisals.
Chapter 112, Part III of the Florida Statutes, "Code of Ethics for Public Officers, and Employees." Which states in part in : 112.311 (3) "It is likewise essential that the people be free to seek redress of their grievances and express their opinions to all government officials on current issues and past or pending legislative and executive actions at every level of government. In order to preserve and maintain the integrity of the governmental process, it is necessary that the identity, expenditures, and activities of those persons who regularly engage in efforts to persuade public officials to take specific actions, either by direct communication with such officials or by solicitation of others to engage in such efforts, be regularly disclosed to the people."
