Powered by Verizon and in partnership with the Sea Turtle Conservancy, Otis is now equipped with a cutting-edge satellite tag. This technology pings every time Otis surfaces, allowing you to track his movements and witness critical marine conservation data in real-time.
Initially triaged at the University of Florida’s Whitney Lab Sea Turtle Hospital and Volusia Marine Science Center, Otis, along with 29 other green sea turtles, arrived at our Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Center in March. He faced severe challenges, including hypothermia, infections, and anemia, but received 6 months of expert care.
Now fully rehabilitated, Otis is ready for his second chance in the wild. Follow his journey as scientists collect vital information to support ongoing sea turtle conservation efforts!
