Here's an Osprey Defense upper, M16 lower and an AAC (I think) suppressor. This was an industry shoot near Fort Bragg. The gun performed very well when it was set up properly.
The first shooter (Army) has trouble staying on target. Other than a poor technique, I noticed that the A2 flash hider had come loose and had the closed end to the right, pushing the gun to the right as he fired. The handguard was also getting VERY hot. Ended up installing a vertical grip right after this.
The second shooter (Air Force) complained that the gas from the piston kept coming directly back into his eyes. The upper handguard had been removed to demonstrate the operating system and it is unlikely he would have had this trouble otherwise. Watch closely and you can see the puffs of gas blowing right back into his face. The suppressor didn't help as it increased back pressure. This is a common problem with suppressed (silenced) firearms.
When I fired the gun, I shot the unsuppressed version with the GripPod grip. I was able to keep an entire mag dump in a fairly tight pattern. I'd give the Osprey Arms a thumbs up!
