On May 22, 2013, the OSIRIS-REx mission hosted a celebration of passing the mission confirmation milestone. In addition to celebrating the confirmation, Michael J. Drake's portrait was unveiled. Mike Drake was the OSIRIS-REx Principal Investigator from 2008-2011.
Also as a feature to the evening, two retiring team members were honored for their work: Joe Vellinga, Lockheed Martin Flight System Manager and Peter Smith, University of Arizona OCAMS Instrument Scientist.
