As a part of my "Time Lagging Strategy", I decided not to spend a fortune on upgrading to the new iPhone 7 and instead keep my iPhone 6 Plus for another 2 years. As a result, my dad got the free phone that comes with the $40 per month Vodafone plan, the Galaxy S5.
I'm not letting anything made beyond early 2015 into my home for at least the next few years. My aim is to slowly let my products get older and older until they are considered semi old-fashioned, then, due to time lagging, update them to the next version which is still old anyway, but this way I get to experience the joy of upgrading for much less money.
For example, in late 2018, it will be late 2015 for me. I'll get to update my iphone 6 plus to a time lagged iphone 6S Plus. It's a similar strategy to that in gaming through the ages on AstralPhaser, however instead of speeding up time, I'm slowing it down. It's all about taking control of hedonic adaption, if you can mentally ignore the present, as you live mentally in the past, you're not missing out on anything :)
