Last year I looked for an apartment to buy in order to run a daycare centre. I didn't end up getting any of the properties in this video though, I ended up getting one in Shackel Avenue Brookvale with a backyard.
Practically no banks were willing to give me a home loan based on my income and deposit size (10%). After a LOT of searching though, I managed to find a lesser known company willing to supply me with the loan. The repayments were so high and due to complaining anti-children neighbors, I had to close down the daycare and sell the property (as I couldn't handle the repayments anymore) after a year of operating. Luckily the Sydney market had gone up since I bought the property so I made a 6K profit on the property (after all agent costs/stamp duty) after holding it for a year.
On that note... the property (including backyard size) was less than 50 square metres. It was a tiny one bedroom apartment yet, due to hopeless Sydney prices, it was worth over 600K when I sold it...
When you can buy a (low end) 3 Bedroom house in Hobart for only 150K vs a (tiny) 1 Bedroom apartment (not even in Sydney city) for 600K... You wonder why anyone bothers with Sydney!
