I wanted to upload this for newer arrivals to the Oscuro community who may have missed this release
MMXVIII was a big turning point for me, after two albums using the old industry model of completing the album then running a PR campaign to get blog features etc In 2018 I decided to make a new song and release it each month. the main reason was that I wanted more immediate feedback on what people liked and what they didn't and I hoped this would help me to develop as an artist/producer.
After releasing 9 tracks I decided what I had released so far would fit together as an album quite well, so I wrote one new track to serve as an intro to the album (Lost) and I made two connecting tracks (Reprise I & II) to help the 2nd half of the album to feel more immersive. I ran a very small campaign for the album and managed to get a few features for 'Feel'. But I realised all the growth had happened along the way, that was the real lesson I learned making this album, consistency is key to growth, I took this idea forward in 2019 when I released 32 tracks (including collabs & remixes) :D maybe that was too many, I'm still working things out, but I thought I would share this part of the journey with you today.
