Doing something a little bit different this week. On Monday, the 92nd Academy Award nominations were released, and I'm a huge Oscar nerd; so I thought I would take the time to discuss my initial reactions to the nominees, snubs and surprises, as well as make my initial predictions on who will take home the gold on February 2nd!
This was initially an hour-long video, but I cut it down to 30 minutes; so some thoughts got cut from the final video. Some Oscar snubs that aren't listed are the complete lack of love for Uncut Gems - I think it should have been nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Editing, and Best Sound Mixing/Editing. Also, Eddie Murphy for Best Actor in Dolemite is My Name. Honeyboy for Original Screenplay. Awkwafina for Best Actress and Lulu Wang in The Farewell.
