Here’s how we spent 3 days in Osaka, Japan, one of the most food-forward and energetic cities we visited on our trip. This video covers street food in Dotonbori, historic temples, skyline views, and how we used the Osaka Amazing Pass to bundle transportation and attractions.

📍 Day 1 – Dotonbori Food Tour & Night Views
Evening
We kicked off Osaka with a self-guided food tour along Dotonbori, sampling:
- Kobe beef skewer
- Takoyaki
- Shrimp skewer
- Crunchy cheese gyoza

📍 Day 2 – Shrines, Temples & Osaka Landmarks
8:00 am
Namba Yasaka Jinja
Quick stop to see the massive lion head shrine.

9:00 am
Shitennō-ji
One of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples. Admission covered by the Osaka Amazing Pass.
Highlights included climbing inside the five-story pagoda and visiting the Buddha statue hall.

10:00 am
Tsutenkaku Tower
Completed three attractions:
- Tower Slider
- Observation Deck
- Dive & Walk experience

1:00 pm – Lunch
Oyajino Kushiya Honten
Kushikatsu style fried skewers

5:00 pm
Osaka Castle
Sunset views over the castle grounds.

After sunset
Osaka Castle Illumination with seasonal holiday lights.

7:30 pm – Dinner
Dotonbori Terrace
Okonomiyaki and yakisoba

📍 Day 3 – Skyline Views, Art & Water

9:30 am
Umeda Sky Building
360-degree open-air rooftop views. Included with the Osaka Amazing Pass.

11:00 am
Koji Kinutani Tenku Art Museum
Located in the same building. Included with the Osaka Amazing Pass.

12:36 pm
Tempozan Ferris Wheel
Included with the Osaka Amazing Pass.

4:30 pm
Tombori River Cruise
Canal cruise through central Osaka. Included with the Osaka Amazing Pass.

Godzilla Store & Lego Store

6:30 pm – Dinner
Shanghai Shokuen
Chinese cuisine, plus a stop at the Godzilla Store and LEGO Store afterward.

📍 Day 4 – Onsen, Aquarium & Travel Day

7:30 am
Private onsen experience.

11:00 am
Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan

2:30 pm
Shinkansen bullet train back to Tokyo.

🎟 Osaka Amazing Pass Notes
We used the Osaka Amazing Pass to cover:
- Temple and observation deck admissions
- Ferris wheel
- River cruise
- Transportation between attractions
