"Pablo Picasso" is a song written by Jonathan Richman for the proto punk group the Modern Lovers.
The song was recorded in 1972 at Whitney Studios in Los Angeles, and produced by John Cale, but was not released until 1976, on the Modern Lovers' self-titled debut album.
The recording featured Richman (lead guitar, vocals), Ernie Brooks (second guitar), Jerry Harrison (bass) and David Robinson (drums), with Cale playing the repetitive hammered piano part.
The central character of the song is the charismatic 20th century artist Pablo Picasso.
With dry wit, the lyrics suggest that women never rejected Picasso's romantic advances, despite his short stature.
"Well he was only five foot three but girls could not resist his stare / Pablo Picasso was never called an asshole / Not in New York".
In a 1980 interview, Richman stated that the song was inspired by his own adolescent "self-consciousness" with women.

And I Love You So is a song written by folk singer and guitarist Don McLean and released on his 1970 debut album, Tapestry.
Its chorus features an unusual rhyming scheme for a popular song: ABBA versus the usual AB(C or A)B.
The song was the B-side to McLeans debut single Castles in the Air, released in January 1971.
In 1973, And I Love You So was released as an A-side with If We Try as its B-side on United Artists Records.
Cover versions
And I Love You So was a 1973 hit for singer Perry Como on his RCA Victor album of the same name, And I Love You So, reaching No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It would be the last of his many popular recordings, dating back to 1943, to reach the top 40. It also spent one week at No. 1 on the Easy Listening chart. It reached No. 2 in South Africa and No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart on RCA Records and remained on the chart for 35 weeks (the longest of his hits in the UK).

Fly Me to the Moon, originally titled In Other Words, is a song written in 1954 by Bart Howard.
The first recording of the song was made in 1954 by Kaye Ballard.
Frank Sinatras 1964 version was closely associated with the Apollo missions to the Moon.
In 1999, the Songwriters Hall of Fame honored Fly Me to the Moon by inducting it as a Towering Song.
Background and composition
In 1954, when Fly Me to the Moon was first presented to the public, Bart Howard had been pursuing a career in music for over 20 years.
He played piano to accompany cabaret singers, but also wrote songs with Cole Porter, his idol, in mind.
In the book Intimate Nights: The Golden Age of New York Cabaret James Gavin noted that Howard wrote the song in response to his publishers plea for a simpler song: why did he have to write such grandiloquent lyrics? In Other Words talked about the verbosity of poets who use many words to say a simple thing; hold my hand, Kiss me. In response, Howard wrote a cabaret ballad. A publisher tried to make him change some words from fly me to the Moon to take me to the Moon, but Howard refused. Many years later Howard commented that ... it took me 20 years to find out how to write a song in 20 minutes.
He used his position as a piano accompanist and presenter at the Blue Angel cabaret venue to promote the song, and it was soon introduced in cabaret performances by Felicia Sanders.
