In this feature length interview Karl Allsop, Spartan UK's Director of Race Operations gives us a fantastic peek at what his job entails including the highs and the lows of race builds and planning. He also shares how he slipped into the role.

From his adventures taking part in the original Spartan Death Race and his experiences of putting together the UK's answer to the race designed to break down participants, to the present day where he's scaling events for thousands of racers from the hugely popular Sprint distances to the Hurricane heats and Ultra beasts.

This really is a unique insight into a truly passionate race professional who doesn't ordinarily make a habit of sharing his story.
