Long time no see, guys.
I tried to come back with Everlast as I promised before, but somehow I've returned with another song. Even worse, 3 months late.
Sorry for being late...

This tune, Under the Tree is very meaningful song to me.
Because it is my first tune I composed in the military. Specifically, at a boot camp.
Taking training at the boot camp, trainees had to polish their combat boots after daily training.
I usually had dinner quite quickly, so I always was the one who came outside and started to polish its combats boots.
This situation -polishing my boots alone while looking the beautiful sunset and afterglow after hard training- made me hum unconsciously.
And this song is the very melody I hummed at that time.

I already completed this song in 2017, but I could not upload it due to my bad playing.
At last, I come to show my old song to you.
Even though I do my best, still its quality is shameful. But I had to upload it now.
Because I think it's now or never.
I have mixed feelings about letting this song go.

오랜만이에요.
원래는 약속드렸던 대로 Everlast와 함께 돌아오려고 했는데 어쩌다보니 전혀 다른 곡으로, 그것도 3달이나 늦게 돌아와버렸네요.
늦어서 죄송해요...

이번 곡, Under the Tree는 제게 참 의미있는 곡이에요.
군대에서 가장 처음 작곡한 곡이거든요. 그것도 훈련소에서요.
훈련소에서는 그날 훈련을 마친 다음에는 저녁을 먹고 전투화를 닦는데,
저는 밥을 빨리 먹는 지라 언제나 가장 먼저 연병장에 나와서 전투화를 닦곤 했어요.
힘든 하루 훈련을 마치고, 해질녘 붉게 물든 하늘을 바라보며 홀로 전투화를 닦고 있자니 절로 콧노래가 나오더라구요.
이 곡은 그때 흥얼거리던 멜로디를 기타로 옮긴 거랍니다.

2017년에 이미 완성했던 곡인데 만족할만한 퀄리티가 나오지 않아 계속 투고를 미루다 4년이 지난 이제야 영상을 올리게 되네요.
여전히 부끄러운 완성도이지만, 이번에도 미뤘다가는 영영 못 올리겠다는 생각이 들어서 여기서 타협을 해버렸어요.
그래도 큰 짐을 하나 내려놓은 것 같아 후련하네요.

그럼 언젠가 올릴 다음 영상에서 다시 뵈어요.
